People forget that the people denying climate change tend to do so because of learned skepticism or distrust of people going on about some cause. Notice how it tends to be conservatives. They aren't called that for no reason. Global warming needs to be discussed as a slow, but constant thing coming in the future that we should all work towards fixing as a society through investment in renewable (See: domestic) energy sources. Not as a giant disaster that is upcoming and you are at fault for driving a car every day. We need to make it so that the solutions proposed are ones that do not force people's hands, but create and promote a better alternative that society will naturally switch to over time without needing law to do so. A "manhattan project".
