Today's solar eclipse will last about three hours, as the moon appears to take a bite out of the sun. The October partial solar eclipse will begin at 5:07 p.m. EDT (2:07 p.m. PDT/2107 GMT), and be visible to potentially millions of skywatchers across North America.
I've got clouds today, bummer.

Did anyone catch the eclipse? Rather miraculously the clouds parted mid-eclipse here in Oregon. I quickly made a pin-hole viewer (read: paper cup with dart-hole in bottom) and was able to see the action indirectly. Definitely a throwback to elementary school minus the teachers yelling at me not to look at the sun directly. Good times.
If this is homemade, I'll need to know your optics and capture specs straightaway. I did catch the transit of Venus live, but conditions were better, both local time-of-day and weather-wise.
