I don't mute anyone that is actively on the site. I filter a few people but it has nothing to do with me not liking them, it has to do with the content they post. One person posts content from their moms blog, which seems to be pure link bait type of stuff. I followed this user at first but quickly found their posts didn't have much to offer me. I think other people likely follow them and enjoy their posts. Hey, that's great, it's just not for me.

Other than that one user, I don't think there is anyone else that is active here that I filter. But I've said it before and I'll say it again, I would not take it personally if someone "filtered" me. I post a TON of content and I bet some people might be annoyed by that.

Now, if someone I interact with often and feel a kinship towards filtered me, I'd be hurt by it. Still, I may never even find out. Which is fine by me. I've hushed a few users though. I'll not say who, but it basically stems from them continuously making what I find to be silly or uninformed comments that begin: "I've not read the article yet, but I will, but I was wondering..."

I've not read the article yet, but I will, but I was wondering...

SHIT.

Heh, I used to do that but now if I don't have time to read an article (which is all the time now) then I just don't comment on the article.

I can see how annoying that would be, though.
