A while back lessismore asked about our NYE resolutions. Mine was to give up eating meat. To date I've consumed 0 meat (I do allow for the occasional sushi) But 0 meat outside of raw fish. At first it was very difficult but the fact that I made such a public declaration of my intentions really helped my resolve. Thanks for that.
Now I wish Hubski to hold me accountable for another goal. I am going to run 10 miles continuously without stopping. I'm going to do this comfortably because I am going to train properly. My neighbor Cliff is the "Iron Man" type and he gave me my first running lesson today. I managed a comfortable 3 miles with some intermittent walking.
So wish me luck! I'm sick of being out-of-shape!!
By the way, how is everyone else doing with their resolutions?
Damn a cheeseburger sounds good!
I'd like to go disc golfing again. We were pretty good.
Having to wait an extra half hour for a machine to open up can be very demotivating psychologically, and when you don't know how long exercise will take, it can be harder to allocate time for it every day.
Here is the run today: http://app.strava.com/runs/4429660#83348910 The GPS did not pickup the satellites on the first half mile, so it's just time and not distance, but still.
Awesome job on your no meat resolution. You seem like a very determined and driven individual, I don't see why you will not be able to train yourself to do the 10 miles. Give yourself an extra incentive for doing it. I suggest a mouth watering tofu burger upon finishing the 10 miles.
