I think it's pretty likely that we'll see on the order of dozens of ebola cases in the US, and probably a bit more than that in the EU, given that more travelers from Africa end up there than here. Hopefully, our containment mechanisms (which I think are fomidable) can stop the spread in its tracks. But yes, one undiagnosed patient on the A Train could stir the pot quite a bit, I'm sure.
I believe I heard on the radio that she drove herself to the hospital. NPR had an interview with a doctor that witnessed the first Ebola case at a Liberian hospital this morning. It's worth a listen.
