This guy has a bone to pick with the IOC, which he makes pretty clear. I don't think that most people who oppose having the Olympics in their back yard really give a fig about IOC corruption. They don't want a bunch of underutilized sporting venues littering their city nor do they want to pay for said venues upfront or in the future. They don't want the expense (not really all the beneficial to the economy in general and really bad for certain parts of the economy which basically get shut down during the games) and the security theater that accompanies hosting a games. Some economist said that the best place to be in an Olympic bid is to come in second (cost/benefit). You get lots of free publicity as the votes come in but you don't have to pay for the games.
