It is true that negotiations is the only solution that would lead to a quite atmosphere after things get settled. And by after, I mean actual peace. Not an occupier to occupied relationship. But what do you do when negotiations fail? I think Abbas is doing the only thing from his side to pressure anyone, because the longer we wait, the more houses and settlements are built, the larger the problem becomes.

Yeah, this is a long shot by Abbas but one that at least grabs headlines and as you say builds up pressure. However, somehow I don't see Israel ever giving up an inch of territory they're occupying, not while a Zionist government is in power anyway.
