I wanna say I ran this by thenewgreen in a pm a while back but maybe I imagined that conversation. Anyway, I'm wondering if there's a way to optimize post weights on feeds based on whether you follow one, two or all three elements of the post (domain, user, tag(s)). If I see something from Mindwolf, #science, theconversation.com -- I probably want to read it an order of magnitude more than if it was just Mindwolf, #science and a domain I wasn't a fan of. Logically, this is how we should be using the following system, right?
So I'm pressed for time and I won't elaborate and hell maybe hubski already does this for all I know but I don't think so. What do you guys think?
Yes, basically. I'm sure I"ll see these posts one way or another. Worst case scenario I get bored and start trolling (trawling) the users whose submissions I like or the tags which are usually good, and I'll certainly pick them up there if they haven't managed to climb my feed already. I would actually be more interested in a feed where things with only 1 "follow factor" were higher up, because I like to get new and interesting stuff in my feed, and "things not made/posted by people I follow" is one definite form of "new and interesting" personally.
How about a global feed without the posts I would have in my regular feed? I never go on global because most of the stuff ends up in my regular feed anyway... I remember there was talk about that and I thought that was a good idea (at least to try out for a while). Did you guys come to a decision regarding that?
