Glad you found a place, sleeping outside kinda sucks.
One of the weirdest memories of my childhood is the time little-me decided he wanted to be a "badass" (probably didn't use that word tho, I was like 9) and sleep outside on a cub scout campout. As far as I can remember, there was no reason for me not to use the standard sleeping bag/tent setup; I had both of these things, and my dad was at the campout with me. But I told him and the other adults that I wanted to sleep under the stars (again, probably didn't use that phrase at 9), and that's what I did. For like half the night I was just curled up in a nook in a tree, until finally at around 1 or 2am someone came and shepherded me into a fellow scout's tent (since setting up my own tent was impractical). What the fuck, little me?
Yeah, camping is awesome. I meant something more along the lines of "sleeping outside without any camping gear sucks". Had to do that a couple of times this summer and ended up putting on all the clothes I had with me towards the end of the night. It gets cold. Next time I'm buying a thermal blanket and a mini tent.
