Thank you for this. I haven't thought of this wonderful (and terrifying) scene for years. I believe the AC is the great Phil Hartman doing his pseudo Jack Nicholson. -what a great performance from one of our best EVER performers. I'm going to make a Phil Hartman post soon.

Yeah, it's one of my favorite childhood movies. The "Worthless" musical number is pretty harrowing, too. The whole film has some surprisingly dark themes to it, considering its target audience.
Apparently there are more celebrity caricatures littered throughout the movie, but most of them went over my head. I guess they're just before my time. The ceiling lamp from the pawn shop scene (http://youtu.be/nOeK0Ig-H9g) is supposedly Peter Lorre, who I've only recently seen in Casablanca.
