There's a reason SpaceX can do these things cheaper, and it likely has something to do with their high employee turnover. I also suspect there's quite a bit less guesswork needed these days than back in the 60's, and we have much better tools.

I would argue that it has something to do with the average age of their employees.

Gen Y (in general) is cheaper, less committed to nuclear family obligations as of yet, and less stuck in ancient modus operadi.

Oh, and they've got Musk, which is basically cheating (Tesla, Paypal...)
