Have you heard his experimental Moon Trills? His new piece reminds me of Aaron Siegal's Science is Only Sometimes a Friend in terms of rhythm, but the instruments are clearly distinct. JG is the only classically trained musician in Radiohead and has an experimental past. EDIT: To make this post not sound completely insane, I'd like to point out that rhythm =/= tempo
I liked it a lot. This is obviously something that still needs some work and will sound very good in a higher fidelity setting. I really like his work with discordant sounds. If you haven't heard it yet, listen to his work with Krzysztof Penderecki, the 48 Responses to Polymorphia/Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima.
