Fuckiiiiin fuckin, comics, man.

I love comics. But I can't believe the drama about Thor being replaced by a woman. Thor being a woman is the least ridiculous thing.

Picking up infinity, infinite mass punch, fights with reactions that happen in pico seconds, literally punching holes in reality, Jubilee is a vampire, Kitty Pryde falling through the floor while having sex with colossus...READ THAT ONE AGAIN. Superman bench pressing the earth for a week without sunlight. Those are low end things, if we start going to upper tier characters you're talking about people destroying galaxies in a fight. Or people who can just hold a galaxy in their hand. Or Reed Richard's son who creates a galaxy. Anything dealing with high tier Superman, like, and I'm not making this up, Superman 1 million prime.

But a woman being Thor. THAT'S WHERE THE LINE IS BEING DRAWN.

I love comics. But comics are already stupid. Granted, a fun kind of stupid, but stupid all the same. Stop making people think it's stupider than it already is.

I think Cap being black makes way more sense than Thor being a woman. Thor is the name of a (mythical) person who has been a (mythical) male for 3,000 years. Cap is a persona, so it makes sense for Cap to be the best man (or woman or otherkin or whatever) for the job.

I have no skin in the game because I haven't read comic books since I was young, but making Thor a woman seems like pandering to me.

Thor, Son of Odin, is still Thor (the person).

Thor is no longer worthy (as depicted in a recent issue of New Avengers) and loses the hammer Mjolnir to Female Thor (who presumably also has a real-name, but I'm not sure what).

Thor, 3000 year old Son of Odin still exists, but epithet of Hammer-wielding Avenger changed hands. It's just weird because unlike Tony Stark or Steve Rogers or Bruce Wayne his superhero identity is the same name as his actual name.

The superhero Thor is just whomever currently wields the hammer.

All the women I know seem quite happy about Thor's temporary replacement. No mentions of pandering.

Kitty Pryde falling through the floor while having sex with colossus

I don't read comics, am I missing something here, please tell me I am and this isn't some awkward fantasy thing.

It was a gag somewhere in Joss Whedon's X-Men run. It was supposed to be silly.

Comic books guys complain about everything, including the stuff you listed. It's what comics fans do. The specific complains about female Thor and black Captain America can be pretty revealing, but the nerdrage never stops.
