That dude is going to be 80 and still making fun of popular songs. And I will probably be just fine with that.
I was thinking the same thing. He hasn't changed a bit (except for that weird time that he cut his hair) and that's alright with me. Jack Black steals the show on this one though.
He sure looks weird with short hair. Odd that his trademark "weird" long hair makes him look normal to me now.
I don't recognize any of the people in the video. This is going to be an odd listen for me as I gave up pop culture years ago and now have to judge Weird Al on the merits of his song and not his art of parody. Nice camera work in the video though. I'm really looking forward to the full album.
There are one or two pop songs each year that have a kind of ahistorical quality to them. Their catch transcends all style to become instantly canonical, fermented in culture and memory. For me, this is that song in 2014. Pharrell has been killing it in recent years because his track with Daft Punk was 2013's masterpiece as well. Now I'm not a top 40 guy at all. And really, this year so far has been a terrible one for music. But listening to the absolute pop bliss of 'Happy', how can any one deny its resonance? I recommend you give it a listen.
I didn't want to like it, but the the chord progression of vocal harmonies seduced me into it.
Weird Al's presence in Tim and Eric's extremely early sketches as "Uncle Muscles" is slowly being erased from the internet. Which is too damn bad, because hardly anyone has seen these clips, and I think they're absurdly hilarious. My sense of humor is an issue though. Sorry guys. : /
