The original is my second favorite NMH song, that melody at the end on the French Horn, which I adapted to guitar is beautiful.
Hope you all like it, I'm getting happier and happier with how these things are turning out.
BE this is awesome work, great interpretation and I'm honestly just glad you didn't cover "aeroplanes over the sea," which is what everyone does. I'm also glad Neutral Milk Hotel is touring again, this surge of five years of uncertainty turned out to be a complete revival-- a lot of people don't know Aeroplanes was released in 1998. Keep us posted if you cover other tracks! And check out the Velvet Underground if you're not already familiar, they might be on your vibe if you like NMH.
Thanks Pablo! There are other NMH songs I want to cover, and that's not one of them. I love that song but it's been beaten to death as you said. This is actually my second or third favorite song of theirs depending on the day. And a lot of people don't know that On Avery Island is even a thing. Which is a record that doesn't get nearly enough respect. Will do, there's three covers and an original track on my soundcloud right now. I love the Velvet Underground!
Great sound on the acoustic, wish I could hear your voice better but it's still nice to hear it none-the-less. You surprised me with the overdubbed guitar part at the end. Very cool. Merge records is having a two day showcase less than 2 miles from my home and I cannot go :( NMH is a great band, sounds_sound introduced me to them many years ago.
Hopefully the surprise was in a good way. The song wouldn't have been complete without that. Forever working on vocals. Seriously!? I would be all over that. I love Merge Records, that would be such a cool showcase. Jeff Mangum was still one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Might see NMH in September.
I love you Jesus Christ. I love you The New Green.
