I know this is dated for those who still haven't watched Obama's West Point commencement address, the speech is worth at least watching because it was a pretty significant event. Anyway, I just remembered this point out of nowhere and I hope it stands true.

There's still a pretty decent chance.

You have to go as far back as Reagan to find a president that didn't bomb Iraq, and Reagan gave Saddam chemical and conventional weapons used internally against Iraqis, so maybe even that doesn't count.

I know, it was a bold statement for better and worse, but for those graduates I think it was a good thing to hear and it is true for now.

It can be argued on its own but I believe the U.S. will be easing into a general interwar period in the coming decade, so hopefully it stays that way.
