I would have to say Bichon Frise. My son has severe allergies along with Cystic Fibrosis so we had to find a "hypoallergenic" dog. My kids named him "Haku" and he has turned out to be a wonderful and invaluable companion to my son. Not only is he sweet natured, playful, and able to do all kinds of cool stunts, but he alerted us to when my son was acutely ill. My son Malachy actually had a life-threatening seizure due to high blood pressure when he was 16. Amazingly, whenever his blood pressure was dangerously high after that, Haku refused to leave him, whining and even growling, which we quickly learned was his way of alerting us. Many times when EMTs arrived to tend to Malachy, Haku was protective until Malachy told him it was okay. Bichons are smart and loyal and our little Haku has literally been a lifesaver!
Thanks! Little side note: my horses I used to have would always take care of my kids even though some of them dumped just about everybody else! It was really cool to see how they somehow knew to be careful with my kids.
How relevant! In a couple of hours, we're going to see some pups to adopt. They're deadly cute: http://www.webklik.nl/user_files/2014_06/554202/pups_buiten_1706_162.JPG A cross between a Golden Retriever and a Newfoundlander. I'll try to take some more pictures!
I don't have one. Maybe because I've never owned a dog that wasn't a mutt. This is my dog: His mother is the most beautiful dog I have ever seen and his father is one of the ugliest dogs I've ever seen. His mother looks like a mini husky with a bright red stripe running down her back and these piercing blue eyes. His father looks like someone went into a barbershop, swept up all the dark hair into a four foot long by 8 inch pile, which then stood up and walked out the door. I guess I like mutts the best.
I have a feeling this is how people will describe my children's parents :) My favorite breed are Vizsla's.
Heh, be kind to yourself . . . people may someday say that one of your kids favors you more than your wife, in terms of looks. Tough road with dogs. They're built for friendship in the here and now and that as we know, isn't forever. Missing someone or something is good. It means our relationship was important., even if it was shorter than we might have liked.
Corgi, choose Corgi! Those beagles will sometimes howl all night long and there is no amount of pillows to drown it out.
We were never allowed pets when I was a kid,
Jeez, I'm not surprised given the size of your parents' families. Good think they had you though.
Personally? Siberian Huskies. But the fur. Oh God the fur.
I can't decide, If we're going small ones either a Yorkie or a Dachshund, if a medium size one it's an English Bulldog and larger ones it's the Doberman.
We had one that had a personality like no other dog I've ever seen, smart as could be and loved cheese. That dog could be asleep upstairs and somebody would get a Kraft single out, the wrapper noise was the key I think, and it'd be like magic, the dog would be right next to you waiting for it. The markup section says if you mention a user and want them to know about it you place @ signs on either side of their name in a post. or if you want to tag a word you surround it with # signs.
I can just hear the crinkling sound of a Kraft single+the sound their little paws make when excitedly moving from one place to the next. I want a puppy so badd! Ah, I see what you mean, NinjaKlaus.
It came out of some show I can't remember which a few years ago where the kid wanted to know if that meant Santa was really a Ninja because he was never caught on camera or heard. So the older kid told him yes, Santa is really a ninja.
