That would be fun, but I think I'm in NY around that time and actually in Vegas the next month :/ Hey, at least I don't have to keep my cellphone inside a lead box for days. Btw, a microwave will work just as well...I tried it out a few weeks ago.
Man, we were just talking about that. Obviously you should bring a laptop and a cell phone, but never fucking connect them to anything ever, and then still have it be a basic clone of a computer, and still flash your BIOS after and swap out your hard drive. I don't even know how to keep my phone safe enough. Airplane mode isn't enough. Off isn't enough, and I can't remove my battery with my new phone, so... fucked? Yeah.
If someone were really malicious, they could just bring a giant electromagnet and send your data to the great beyond. Then again, I'm extra paranoid and wouldn't bring a hardback book to DEFCON without worrying that it might be hacked.Man, we were just talking about that. Faraday bags for cell phones were all the rage after last defcon as I remember. There were a lot of write-ups and at least one Kickstarter. They existed before then , but I don't remember them being a "thing" in the more mainstream tech press before last year.
