    Statements of the bleeding obvious, the outcomes of basic arithmetic, are treated as exotic and unpardonable distractions, while the impossible proposition by which we live is regarded as so sane and normal and unremarkable that it isn’t worthy of mention. That’s how you measure the depth of this problem: by our inability even to discuss it.
If it is an inevitability because entropy is a fact, then it's more of a situation to be dealt with than a problem to be solved, right? There is not solution, only a way to buy time in a finite universe.

I'm not suggesting we throw our hands up and give up, but rather that part of the "bleeding obvious" is that regardless of our efforts, we will exhaust all resources if given long enough as a species to exist, right?
