I love the clash. Well that's an understatement. When I was growing up in a small mid-western town in Michigan, The Clash were my way into understanding a bit more about the world and a bit more about myself. I first heard about The Spanish Civil War due to The Clash. Social issues were brought to the front wherein the rest of my life social issues were largely ignored or not brought up at all. I still remember the day I listened to Give em Enough Rope and was blown away by "Guns on the Roof" For someone who never even considered that there might be people who didn't like the current way things were being done, The Clash made me feel like I belonged (even if the band had long separated by the time I listened). In 2002-2003 I lost the chance to see both Joe Strummer and Johnny Cash live. I'm trying to make an effort to see my favorite performers before it's too late now.
I would have liked to see Strummer too. Where did you grow up in Michigan? I grew up in Brighton/Ann Arbor. Strummer was making some cool music up till the end. From what I've heard he was a helluva nice guy too. Big loss for music.
Howell! Our arch nemesis and rivals. So are you still in Michigan? If not, do you ever get back? We often have Hubski meet ups in Michigan because there are so many of us there and that's where Hubski is found it. You will have to join us sometime. I feel like we've had this conversation before, ...have we?
Yeah I'm closer to Ferndale now though! We may have had this conversation before, but if we don't remember that we had it did we really have it? Where are the meetups is there a tag for them? I'd love to come! Edit: Also sorry for the 6 day reply I forget to check hubski sometimes
