I honestly don't think it's meant to be anything beyond what it actually is: an interactive, physics based sandbox music toy. I think it's a cool installation piece and thats it, they're not trying to pitch anything. Though I agree they could've presented it better and with more detail. I use the software they do, albeit at an amateur level, so I'd be interested in the programming side.

It was all done in a program called Pure Data, a visual programming environment similar to Max MSP, if you've heard of that. Basically, if you can think of anything you want to do with sound, you can do it in those programs.
