I think I first found out about Hubski through a Theory of Reddit from a couple of years back? Something like that, one of the smaller and discussion oriented subreddits. I don't think there as much of an influx from that post.

I've mentioned it to a couple of friends, one has an account that he never uses and the rest don't use aggregates often enough to care. This is the 200th post of yours I've shared. Yikes.

I believe I came over after seeing that same post, as we've both been here for 490 days! I enjoy both the content and the personalities around here. What I appreciate most is the fact that the content here is free of circle jerking and the tired inside jokes of reddit. Instead, there is consistently insightful, critical comments that also allow for the unique personality of each user to be known.

It must have been the same post! I agree with everything you've said, Hubski is a great place to learn and have meaningful conversations with people. I definitely feel like I know a lot of you despite never having met any of you (going to change that one of these days...)

lol guys I came over with you, it was a Theory of Reddit post about what will replace Reddit/what is better than Reddit.

I have tried to convert some people but it never works.

I recall both you and ButterflyEffect joining at the same time because I used to get the two of you mixed up based on your somewhat similar looking usernames. -That no longer happens as I've gotten to know both of you over the past 490 days.

This is my 184th reply to you. -I'm glad you found us pal and I appreciate you mentioning it to friends. I have found that it's really not for everyone. That said, it's not a generational thing, as is evidenced by any number of younger and older active hubski users. It's more of a preferential thing. I can't help but think that too many people dismiss the idea of joining a discussion community out of hand though and would really enjoy it if they gave it a shot.

At first glance, Hubski (and most aggregators) just look like a wall of text. That there are things happening and conversations occurring isn't immediately apparent. It takes an investment of time and I've had some of my closest friends not be willing to invest that time and I'm one of the founders of the site for cryin out loud. -Not the easiest sell to someone unfamiliar with how much fun and how interesting it can be.
