It's a mixture of true and false.
I tried some McDonalds again recently on the urging of my new wife. I tried to forget my bias and had some burger and a nugget (the holy grail of modern tastiness). I can't believe how bad the crap is. I can't believe what people eat these days and call tasty. Anyone who thinks it's good and isn't drunk needs to broaden there horizons and try locally sourced fresh food. Do yourself a favour
I love many types of food, everything from fine dining to crappy dive bar burgers/sandwiches. One of my favorite sandwiches is in Ferndale MI at a place called the Inn Place (such a dive). It's white bread, thick cut bologna and yellow mustard. Culinary mastery? No. But it's brilliant in that it mirrors so many people's childhood lunch. Nostalgia is a big part of food too. Had I been lucky enough to have a childhood filled with white table clothes, foi groi and fresh meats/cheeses, I would probably thing McNuggets tasted like "crap" too. But as it is, they taste like mom deciding to spoil us. -Victory.
