Polls generate interest, attention and income for a lot of people, especially those who try to define us by them. I'll predict the future acts of mankind right now: We will continue to repeat history, killing each other, preying on our fears, until something unifies us. It could be impending doom, that tends to do it most times.

saying that the military intervention was a surprise kind of belies the fact that they were so heavily involved and invested in Ukraine already (Yanukovych being "possibly" installed by the Russians). Not only was it not a surprise, As soon as I heard about riots I knew it was, in many ways, a foregone conclusion.
