Joined fairly recently and I think I'll observe the community for a bit before I jump in. Just for clarification, the share button on posts also acts as a kind of upvote/like right?
If you share a post, it will add a spoke to the wheel, and it will push the post to all of your followers (a person's main feed is made of posts which the people they follow have submitted or shared, plus tags they follow). If you click the wheel on a comment, in adds a spoke and increases it's weight in the thread (I believe). In both cases though, it stops counting after 8 spokes so as not to reward shitty karma-whoring. Gives you enough feedback to know if a few or more people dig what you're saying, after that, don't worry about it.
