Well, it's technically not that much harder to have a bot that converts static pages into RSS feeds ( http://feed43.com/ ), I do like the idea of having RSS feeds that users can personally enable/disable.
Edit: It might be neat to just enable HTML5 desktop notifications like GMail has now, though, for when you have hubski already open
