The cornerstone of nearly every conservative health care reform plan is to eliminate or dramatically reduce the tax preference for employer-sponsored health insurance and use the revenues to help people pay for their own coverage. But the disruptions that would entail would dwarf the ones Obamacare is creating, and conservative wonks realized that by opportunistically attacking Obamacare, political operatives had just crafted the very attacks that could ultimately doom their own policymaking pursuits.
Wait, people still want to dismantle Obamacare for reasons other than moving towards a more universal health care system? One like the one that was in place prior to Obamacare, as the GOP has been rabidly foaming at the mouth for since the signature of the bill four years ago? Look, Obamacare is watered down and nowhere near what we need, but it's an absolute world better than the abomination we had before it. Only Thatcher could look at what we had and start masturbating furiously over it from the sheer lack of compassion and logic it held.
There's an easy, simple way to destroy Obamacare for good. Simply lower the age of eligibilty for Medicare by a year (or more), every year. Eventually Obamacare will be swept away!
