It certainly doesn't take a genius to know the difference between an Explorer (Ranger chassis) and the Expedition (F150 chassis). You're dead on that this is garbage journalism. Besides, I've driven Explorers from several different body styles, and they're pretty damn nice cars. Not liking that they helped popularize a class of highly successful autos (the SUV) in no way makes it one of the worst cars ever.

1983 Mazda RX-7...It was in 1998. Still the most badass car I've ever owned.

Haha. Funny you should say that, because I was 16 and had just made out with this hot chick in my car after school. I dropped her off at home, and then was feeling like a bad motherfucker when I caused a 4 car pile up...I had the car for a total of 3 weeks! My dad warned my that the first speeding ticket I got, he was taking the car away. It never got that far.

Bummer. I too got in an accident within my first month. I had my little sister in the back seat too (9 years old). It was a serious accident, the car was totaled. I crossed a major intersection without coming to a complete stop and got t-boned. My car did 2 full spins (which seemed to last forever) and then crashed in to a guard rail. My sister was crying really hard in the back seat and I turned around and asked, "are you okay"? Her response was classic, "dad's going to kill you". -I laughed out of relief.

Dad didn't kill me, I'm pretty sure he was glad I was alive.

At least your story involved a make out session. I was driving a wood paneled station wagon of my parents, not quite the chick magnet your mazda was.

Ouch. Glad your sis wasn't hurt. But seriously, just having a car it 16 is a chick magnet. Its your first foray into adulthood, and its the best freedom in the world for a kid. I rebounded as soon as I saved another $900 and got an '84 Town Car Cartier edition. That car was a riot, because it was about as big as a house.

When you've got a car like this: http://i.imgur.com/9D4bA.jpg the party goes everywhere with you.
