Why the fuck are shrooms in the same classification as heroin. Seeing as they're non-addictive, have no long term side effects, and are nearly impossible to OD on, that doesn’t make much sense. If anyone has a better understanding of the classification standards, feel free to enlighten me.Marijuana, which is still placed in the same category as heroin, ecstasy and psychedelic mushrooms by the federal government
The conspiracy nut in me says that they're in that category because the 'man' doesn't want people having epiphanies that just maybe they're living unfulfilled, meaningless lives, and that more 'stuff' isn't going to make them happier. The realistic person in me agrees with flagamuffin.
Many of the laws against drugs were put in place to outlaw a culture, not to eliminate use of the substance. Psychedelics were associated with a powerful counterculture in the 1960's, and so by making them illegal, the authorities gained another tool to use to suppress it.
