The idea would be to have a daily topic, with people posting insightful links related to it under the tag #hubskidayof. The most shared post at the end of the day would allow its poster to choose the subject for the next round.
Maybe, given the small number of people on Hubski, would it be better to start with a longer time period, like a week.
What are your thoughts? Would you participate in such a thing?
I'd jump in if the topic interested me. #hubskidayof. I'm going to follow that tag. Or better yet, I like the idea of following #hubskiweekof
Go for it! I'll participate. Just make a tag and get it going.
Well, there is a reason /r/subredditoftheday is twice as large as /r/redditdayof. I think it is that the former introduces me to new classes of ideas instead of just throwing me a random subject. If I wanted random subjects, well, Wikipedia has a button for that. What makes Sub o/t Day better for me is that if exposes me to part of the website that I wouldn't find on my own. So I'd suggest a weekly exposure of a less popular tag on hubski, eg "here's a less used tag, let's use it as a promt
to find articles this week". I would find it.more interesting than "let's talk about ducks for a week". It might just be me though.
I think, given the different nature of hubski, that we could combine those two ideas by having a #tagoftheweek instead of #hubskiweekof. It would basically be the same thing, because we could then choose to talk about, to take your example, ducks, by having the tag be #ducks.
