That is precisely how I feel about NYTimes: a complete betrayal of their position in our society. The straw that broke the camel's back for me was in early '00s when we -- hundreds of thousands of us -- marched from the Mall to Navy Yard (with helicopters buzzing overhead) against the planned Iraq war. If it was in Moscow, you can be certain it would be front page on NYTimes. They buried it somewhere inside as "thousands" protesting. Ditto for the Post. So much for the "liberal" press ...
Well, that would have gone directly against their stated position that the Iraq war was justifiable and popular. Remember Thomas Friedman arguing for it in column after column? Remember whom the Bush administration leaked the faulty WMD "intelligence" to? All perpetrated by NYT. I think the administration used NYT intentionally (and cynically) because it is considered to be so Leftist. "If The Times supports it, it must be right."

This is why crowd sourced media (like out very own Hubski) is so damned important. It's also why although aggregators are some of the most visited sites online, they get very few mentions outside of twitter in the MSM.
