I am home in MI for the holiday. Last night my mother made a pot roast for dinner and in the gravy were morels she had gathered herself. She dries them and then reconstitutes them in the gravy. They are wonderful.
Morels have come to embody "home" for me. They, like Tigers basesball, Michigan football, the Great Lakes and canoe trips, are intrinsically "Michigan". It's good to be home.
