I've been loving the Getz/Gilberto album for the past couple weeks, which features Antonio Carlos Jobim (who is great in case you've never given him a listen). Also, Bebe - Sinsentido, and Bomba Estereo - El Alma Y El Cuerpo.
my god.. I need a shower after that first track.
yes, Born in a Storm is awfully cacophonous. I get where you're coming from with this vibe but holy hell I wasn't prepared for that :D
I see! I understand where you're saying, what attracts me to this type of music is indeed the relatively sloppy noise and recordings, as well as the energy and emotiveness.
I dont know if this is to your taste or not but whatever this is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S76qfQojdo0 has a similar lack of melody :D It's obviously two different worlds but I first thought of it when I heard your track.
Aha! Yes I am familiar with La Dispute, I am a fan of them, though not a huge one. I'm more partial to Touche Amore myself. I take it you're a fan of La Dispute?
haha.. no. But I like to think I'm open to a wide enough range of music that I can appreciate a little bit of something from everything. Sheer emotion resonates with me on this track. I don't know many of their other songs, or Touche Amore, but I'll look it up ;) thanks!
Mono/Poly - Ra Rise Can't get it out of my head
I'm entranced by the out-of-body remixes of Thom Yorke's solo album, particularly the song linked. Always a blues lover, I was introduced to modern blues-funk group Maggot Brain with this work of art.
