My fair city (Detroit) made the list :( as did four other American cities (five if you count San Juan as an American city).
So ... what about the various cities across the world that are embroiled in wars? This isn't the 50 most deadly cities out there, it's the 50 cities with the most homicides that don't have to do with a recognized armed conflict. Or something like that. Still interesting, of course, and man is it sad how far St. Louis has fallen.
Yeah I don't know exactly what their filtering criteria are. I'm very surprised more African cities didn't make the cut. Also, I'm going to assume that the US has much better reporting and more reliable statistics, which probably over represents them in the end. I can't imagine that Detroit and Juarez are on the same level.
