I'm a long-time arc user, but I've been playing with this a little and it really is quite a nice alternative. One big advantage: it comes with email notifications out of the box, which I know mk had to slog to build out here on hubski.

You can see it in action here: https://lobste.rs/ I saw this for the first time when HN went down last week and it was all over the "alternatives to HN" threads. I didn't play with it much or realize that it was a rails clone. Super interesting. The design is alright. Very minimalist (which is a nice way of saying there is nothing there and no hierarchy._ Not a fan of the yellow/purple/pink circle tagging though but it might be better than what reddit/hubski looked like fresh out of the box.
