The comments on this article are worth a read if you want to feel more disheartened. This reminds me of the article put up the other day about women feeling uncomfortable around attractive women. Also posted by you, humano. I have enjoyed both reads though I was at a loss at how to start a discussion on the other one. I find both of these interesting. I would love to hear people's thoughts.
What's more disheartening, that the army would make a proclamation like this one, or that they feel they have to? In all the armed forces commercials that are on TV, the dudes are always super ripped and rugged. I've known a lot of people in the military, and while I can say that the average soldier appears to be fitter than the average Joe by quite a bit, most of them are Thor either.
I too, would like to get some thoughts. Frankly, I'm a little surprised that the other one has no comments, though hubski does have a very heavily male user base. Anyway, I have always thought that physical appearance has a marked effect on how people interact with each other and that it's something people are very quick to dismiss.
