Hitchens always made the point that if religion makes these people so happy, why do they seem so miserable? Because, he'd say, they aren't happy until you join them. They aren't content to have their relationship with God, they need to know you have it too. It's strange. The whole thing is crazy. There is one religious quote that I like from St. Francis, "At all times preach the gospel and only when necessary, use words". -Now that's my kind of christian. Do you want to spread your religion? Fine, do so by having such a virtuous and kick ass life that people openly ask you "how are you able to live like this", then by all means evangelize.
