Ebert is a great writer about movies and about life in general. I've always enjoyed hi movie reviews even when we don't see eye to eye. He seems to have gotten a lot more reflective in the last several years since he hasn't been able to speak. I would highly recommend his website (rogerebert.com) to anyone surfing the net looking for something worthwhile to read.

I have always enjoyed his writing too. I would have never watched the Decalogue if it were not for his high praise. If you've not seen them, check them out. They are wonderful: http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20...
Watching that led me to watch these films by Krzy-sztof Kieslowski as well: http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20... They too are amazing. For this, I am very grateful to Mr. Ebert. Also, his passion for film is evident, this is not always the case for critics of art.

Gates of Heaven is one of his top 10 films of all time. I watched it specifically because of that rec, and it started my love of Errol Morris. Now I have seen all of his films and read most of what he has published; it has changed my life, and I have Ebert to thank for it.
I'm gonna check out the above suggestions. Thanks!
