I am sharing this mainly because I think the author sounds pretty entitled and WASP-y. However, I don't have kids and I don't feel particularly sensitive to the feelings of kids. In addition, I work at a bank, which gives me a certain point-of-view on money and money management that the regular consumer may not, perhaps, share. To me it seems like this mom just isn't tuned in enough to the amount of money in her kid's lunch account.
I also find the title WAY exaggerated. And to me this article seems to underline some of the problems going on with today's parents as defined by the media, i.e., entitlement, thinking their kid should be "special" and treated basically with kid gloves.
Am I not sympathetic enough to the fragility of children? The plights of parenthood?
What do you think?
