Nice, Fiona fell prey to the "keep the click track" in the song disease, even just for the first few beats. I really like her. Always have. I think Extraordinary Machine is a great tune/album. Thanks for posting.
I knew nothing about her as I usually dont stray into this genre, but I found out about her today by accident, via a hilarious video that I'll post tomorrow. Very talented, and I'll definitely take a listen to that album. Any need-to-know tracks?
Wait, to clarify, in my reply to this comment I wasn't referring to Not About Love when I was talking about her jaw, I was referring to the og video
wow. I've heard the album, it's wicked. Look at her mouth/jaw in this video, it shows everything about her. It's almost skeletal but strong and looks like it should be rigid.. somehow it's not and there's a tremendous voice coming out of it but it causes her to shake a little bit-- batshit is right. in the best way. edit: just making sure you've seen this, world's greatest music video
The harmonies are kinda eh, but I could listen to the melody endlessly.
I hear you, but with that tuning of the timpani and the piano line, as well as the sheer number of notes in the melody, I have to say that I feel like the dissonance is a device related to the lyrics. Like thenewgreen, I have a spot for her. I'm glad to see this, as I haven't followed what she was up to.
no i agree that they're important, I just feel like she could've used a slightly different progression. I'm very happy to have found her, especially since I'm trying to branch out from my narrowing taste in music >.< let me know if there are any tracks that are a must-listen.
Do you follow the #weeklymusicthread? There are some other interesting music tags going on these days and a whole bunch of users that I've talked to in order to find music to broaden my tastes. In particular, flagamuffin, cgod, Owl and thenewgreen. I don't know if you have a musical direction in mind, but if you like saxophones, check this out..
Fiona's got potential and taht's what matters. her voice is the kinda thing that's gonna keep getting better over time imo, so don't lose hope :D
