It looks like elizabeth is going to keep the idea of a "photo challenge" around a theme going. She mentioned in this comment that it would likely be once a week or so. I'm sure she would appreciate any help etc. Perhaps the person choosing the theme and making the post could change? I'm glad to continue to participate. As for it leading up to a holiday, that was really just a coincidence. One day I just remembered that ecib had posted his Amateur Phone Photo Contest a while back and thought, "I really enjoyed that." and voila!
And on behalf of myself and I dare say everyone else here, an über thanks to thenewgreen for starting something amazing, and for passing the torch to keep it going! I've had a lot of fun doing this, as I don't generally show my photos to wider audiences. The past week or two has made me go back and finally post-process some pics that had been overlooked, and generally revisit the countless hundreds, thousands of pics I've taken, reminding me I am long overdue to get out there with camera-in-hand again. Kudos thenewgreen!

Sounds awesome, I like the weekly idea. It'd also give people more time to shoot new photos if they choose. elizabeth, if you want any help with the weekly challenges just let me know. I'd be willing to share the responsibility of posting the weekly challenges (maybe alternate weeks?) if you don't feel like doing 100% of the work.
