- The poll by Marketing Resource Group and Mitchell Research found 41% of Michiganders support legalization, regulation and taxation of small amounts of marijuana. 24% of those polled say possession of small amounts of marijuana should be treated like a speeding ticket.
What do you think? I personally don't think it should be illegal at all at small amounts. I do think it should be illegal to grow and sell without some sort of "permit". -Should be a taxable revenue stream.
Thoughts?
I dont see the need to make drugs illegal in the first place. What peole do to themsepves shouldn"t be a government issue. I understamd the current buzz about marijuana because of its popularity, but I'd like to see shrooms legalized. It has no long term side effects and is slightly more toxic than caffine. The "war" on drugs has just about reached its end. The government needs to start treating people like adults when it comes to matters like this.
I agree accept in the instance of driving etc. Anytime that the use of drugs puts others at risk should be illegal. I'm excited for driverless cars; can you imagine how many lives will be saved?
I'm just surprised that legalization is happening in the states before here in BC. And it's weird to me that things like tobacco and alcohol are legal and fine for people but not weed. I've seen what alcohol can do: it tore my mom's side of the family apart and even alcohol withdrawal can kill you. I'd love to see it legalized and regulated like tobacco and booze, though I doubt I'd partake in it even then.

-I agree. That's a huge fallacy, that just because it is now legal people that used to not use it will not suddenly want to.
