Using this random poem generator I received this:
Courage is a rough shore.
Never love a ship.
Rough, rainy waves swiftly pull a clear, old reef.
My idea is that people be able to add to this poem. We can add stanzas, lines, we can remove words from what is currently there, and we can change it all together. We can erase and start over. There is no loyalty to what exists here. A number of us have been given access to "edit" this post. If you would like to be added to this, let me know. You need not tell people it was you that wrote whatever.... do this under anonymity. Let's see how this thing changes. Please do not edit the above original poem, but do so here:
Fountainheaded Leviathans swim through
delirium, the sailors' name for honey
that is the desert of becalmed disaster:
no moon or stars or vulvas, no winds
or black drawing maps on horizon-
turned leather. Adrift in the
boxes where myth ships go dreaming
a call 'cross creaking timbres,
the strummed rigging, morose bird
a castaway island. Every sail holds a memory
of time bowing through trees
and every acorn an anchor. Every anchor
an umbilical cord and every father a hornpipe
danced to dance itself.
The lost boys sleep heavily with heavenly
mystery in a setting resembling the void
we cannot see.
farewell through arms chaired
through stone saddled migrants
courage is a rough shore indeed.
Indeed, indeed, indeed, indeed, indeed
indeed.
This is probably among my favorite sort of exercises in poetry: taking something that's already there and tweaking, playing with it, seeing what you can take out and improve. I've had a lot of fun with this. I was just wondering, would it be interesting if the OP were able to access a log of edits? No editors could see it, just OP. That way someone would be aware of who did what, in this case to see the path of changes.

The fact that you weren't originally is criminal. Sorry about that. Fixed.
