I disagree with the assumption that because someone is celibate they are more likely to be pedophiles. I don't think pedophiles were "good hearted or well-intentioned" to begin with. Just my opinion. I'm not religious though so I don't much care what the Catholics do, but it all seems silly. Robes, genuflecting, chanting. Bizarre.
I have known some very sincere, chaste priests in my day; no problem with some who really "choose" it. I was saying that if the Catholic Church allowed marriage - Peter was married with children and so were many of the Apostles - it may cut down the number of incidences of pedophilea. I just feel that the "requirement" of priesthood or nunship is not founded as a pass down tradition from Peter or the Apostles; it is a man made requirement. Paul felt that his celibacy was chosen and a calling, but many do not. To make them go through that un-natural state to enter the ministry is misguided in my opinion.
