Beautiful, I love this band so much, I loved seeing how they posted much of their music before social media was big and it had some twenty-thousand views, and once social media hits it big and they release ten years later they're in the one-hundred through five-hundred thousand views/listens. I love Lift These Skinny Arms Like Antennas To Heaven, and Slow Riot For Zero New Kanada... but World Police and 9-15-10 part 2 are my favorite songs by them, sorry what were we talking about?
These guys get it. That's really all I have to say about it, other than that I agree with everything they said.
Those guys are as smart as I always assumed they were. It really is cool when I see writing by famous musicians, and they write just like I do, with similar thought processes to me, and then I realize the famous musicians weren't born in 1940 anymore, they're kids/were kids and grew up with the same cultural influences as me, more or less, and it's amazing. Guys like Bono have been trying for relevance for years, but for certain types and generations of musicians -- looking at Guante -- it's effortless, the understanding and empathy is effortless. God, I sound like I'm stoned. I have no idea how to put this. Great letter regardless.
I don't know if the lineup has changed, but I started listening to them when I was a teenager and they'd already been around a while. I think they're like the same generation as Bono, but of course they have always inhabited a different aspect of the music universe. I don't get U2 at all and while I really like God Speed in certain contexts, they're never a band that make it into my regular rotation, though I have had some great experiences listening to them. It's cool man, God Speed scrambles brains.
