Just want to throw the fact that this title is a bit one sided. Turning off thumbnails for the subreddit would have solved all DMCA issues, the images aren't hosted on Reddit so there's not an issue there. The problem is there are many worse subreddits, and the subreddit in question wasn't breaking any site rules. It's the hypocrisy of banning this subreddit but letting worse stay that people didn't like. That and that Reddit is supposed to be some internet haven where anything (not illegal) can be posted. No censorship. Not to defend the subreddit, but the Reddit admins either need to take much more drastic action or less.
