I could live without my computer if it weren't for the fact that so much of my life is tied to it now. My job takes place mostly on a computer, and even the things that aren't digital come from a server in the office. Other than that, the problem would come from schoolwork. Most, if not all of it, is done online or through a computer program. I could always go the library to do that, however there wouldn't be any guarantee that I would have the capability to work there.

A smartphone I could absolutely live without, assuming I had an older-style phone to communicate with and something to play music from (hopefully not a full-sized walkman, maybe a pocket-sized mp3 player). With this, however, I never would have been able to keep up my last relationship anywhere as long as I did (because international calling/texting is expensive and my parents would never upgrade our family's phone plan for a girlfriend).

I'm thinking of spending a week or so (at least mostly) technology-free over my next family trip in about a week, and if I do it will be an interesting experiment.

Well people are always brewing beer, right? Correct me if I'm wrong, but they could use JIT (Just In Time) stocking to make sure that they have a steady supply in and out, and if they have a deal with brewers, they could send out a collection tanker truck to breweries to collect a specific volume of slurry (The rest could go to wherever they usually send it), and send it out as it's produced. However, I'm an engineering student not a business student, so maybe this wouldn't work at all. The biggest problem with this would probably be involved with the timescale of brewing beer, because this is all off the top of my head and I have literally no knowledge about brewing other than "plants, yeast and water go in, beer comes out"!

What's different about danish milk though? My ex girlfriend always said that, but I never got the chance to try it (I live in the US, never got the chance to fly out there and visit her).

I've noticed the exact same thing, it seems like the lack of "voting" system really opens up new people who might be scared to post/comment on reddit because of the "downvote if you disagree" mentality that people have there.

Wake up when the sun rises. Fall back asleep or do stuff on my phone until alarm goes off 40 minutes later. Alarm goes off. Snooze alarm. Snooze alarm. Snooze alarm. Realize I have about 10 minutes until I have to be at work. Throw clothes on and leave for work.

Press F, it'll help ;)

I actually had the opposite thing, learning to play guitar actually made me able to reliably hit that damn orange button and have it not mess me up on the next 10 notes!

I guess people are just sort of vengeful, because they see something they don't like they wanna ruin a person's day. That's why the whole karma thing wasn't important to me, and part of why I only ever upvoted things I liked, rather than upvoting and downvoting. I just like seeing other people's content, maybe adding a comment here or there, but the vindictiveness of the people there wasn't something I really wanted to INVOLVE myself with, I preferred to just sit back and watch. I like to think of a particular quote, I think it was by Voltaire, "I may not like what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it."

Sorry to say my commute isn't anything interesting, I drive a hand-me-down minivan which used to be my mom's. It's a car full of memories for me though (we've had it since I was 4), and I'm not getting rid of the old rustbucket until the day it dies!
