I was thinking about the Binding of Issac while I was brainstorming, but I think I would try to have a larger, more engaging plot. You do make a point though, if there is too much focus on the plot and it slows down the game play replayablility goes out the window.
That is funny because there were about five people on my college's sub.
I think that is what I will be doing as well, but while using ad-block. When I want engaging discussions I will come here. I actually have been on here all day instead of Reddit.
I haven't given it a ton of thought it is just something that I've always wanted to do. I'm big on plots so it will definitely tell some kind of story, but it will do so not through cut scenes but by allowing you to live in the world that I create. I really do love rogue-like games, so maybe I will try my hand a a rouge-like game that also provides a compelling story. I am just spit balling here, it will be some time until I can begin work.
I want to create my own game studio and create small but intelligent indie games.
I will have to look into Journey, time and time again I hear great things about it.
I can see where you are coming from, I have just left Reddit and I've got to say that the discussions on Hubski are much better. I don't think that Reddit had any negative influence on my ability to hold a reasonable discussion mainly because on Reddit I was too intimidated to try to have a discussion. On Hubski I do not feel this intimidation, furthermore I actually find that seeing opposing points of view is enjoyable, and it is enjoyable to post my point of view.
It is a great website, I'm not sure that I ever would have build my PC without it.
sure you could do it, after a quick look on PC Part Picker, here is a build https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/kYNnTW/the-ultimate-console-killer by all means look at other build created by users on the website, or take some time and do some research to make your own build.
You should build a PC, I just built my first one a few months ago. There is a weird pride that comes from building your own PC and gaming on a PC is fantastic. Check out PCPartPicker.com to help you select parts, it makes sure that they are all compatible for you and shows you where they are cheapest. Message me if you want any help building it.
About Spec Ops: The Line, I agree the main story was a bit heavy handed, but to me the subtle elements of the game are what made the story worthwhile. Possible Spoilers For example the loading screen taunting me after I died too many times, or combat meaning to be repetitive and grueling, or the transition theory which (if I remember correctly) was when the screen fades to white the next sequence was a fabricated part of the story created by walker, and when the screen fades to black the sequence actually happened. The transition theory then ties in to the theory that Walker is in a purgatory where he is forced to relive the terrible events that have come to pass.
It does sound better than 8, so I am glad for that.
What! Root beer floats with it! I have to get it now so that I too can cry manly tears.
That is really interesting, your body is nourished but your stomach still thinks that you need food. I'm not sure there is anything interesting or different about me, I spend most of my time working and when i am not working I am going to university. If I am able to take a breath I try to play some video games.
I am excited about Windows 10, and DX12, but I am really worried about the stability especially pertaining to video games. I adopted 8 very early on and found that I had problems with a few games so I returned to 7. Does it seem that 10 will do a better job of supporting games?
I suppose that they are trying to ease in to the transition.
Would you consider movies or video games as visual art? To me a select few video games are amazing representations of art, for example Bioshock Infinite and Spec Ops: The Line. These games have triggered emotional reactions in me unlike any other visual art, so much so that I regularly think about them and still feel the emotions they pulled from me. Bioshock Infinite is beyond beautiful visually, but it also has haunting themes and a thoughtful plot. Spec Ops: The Line toyed with both my heart and mind, it actually made me feel like a bad person.
How true, I'm only 21 years old but I have some friends that have gone through some serious pain. I do believe that this pain may have changed that for the worse in some ways but it has defined them in a way that has also made them better people. It is hard to find the silver lining for some situations but there is always one.
I've been wanting to try that, it really taste that much like root beer?
I'm SCUM I'm 21 and I don't really have much going for me, but I'm interested, how are you always hungry when you have a tube sending food directly to your stomach? I always thought that hunger would be absent in that situation.
I've just come running from the fires over at reddit and I have to say this transparency is very refreshing. Thank you for actually consulting your community in these decisions, and thank you for creating website to fulfill a passion and not to fill your wallet.
This is a great write up. I am currently in the stages of growing up and I too am dealing with on and off depression, lack of motivation, and huge changes. Thanks for making me feel not so alone.
I understand how you feel. This wonderful place is like a grown up reddit, it is responsible, intelligent, even mature. I love it.
I just joined hubski, and if half of the comments are as thoughtful and literate as this I think I will stay.
Hello hubers, I am SCUM a long time redditor and a new hubber. I'm not even sure what we call ourselves, but I am excited to leave behind the drama on reddit and engage in some quality conversation.
