The GIMP is powerful, don't get me wrong. You'll get used to it if you give it a try, and coming from somebody who's now been using Ubuntu exclusively for about 4 years, you'll come to adore its flexibility (of Linux in general).

The wonky part for me is that there are three separate windows, where as in Photoshop it's all one window with toolboxes that you can drag around. So if you minimize The GIMP, you have to actually minimize all three windows. This is a hassle. Plus, it's sometimes hard to make the windows stack in the right order.

Cool algorithms, but I'll only install them if somebody can tell me how to make Gimp behave as one window.

Queensrÿche - Operation Mindcrime was pretty amazing, but I didn't really like the rest of their work.

Looks good.

One criticism I have that has stopped me getting into this site more than my other social news haunts, is that since hashtags can be anything, a cool article doesn't allow me to find other cool articles via its hashtag as often, because it might be something too specific.

I'm not sure if that makes sense, or how to address it really, but perhaps a suggested hashtag feature?

Fantasy was the Hobbit, an awesome illustrated version that I got for my birthday one year. Cyberpunk was Altered Carbon by Richard Morgan. Led me to read the rest of the Takeshi Kovacs series (which I was so sad to see him finish after only 3 books), followed by some more seminal works like Neuromancer and Snow Crash (William Gibson and Neal Stephenson respectively)

Fascinating! And now I finally know what that break is called.
