For me at least, it feels like there's a higher bar to contributing worthwhile content here, so I don't post or comment much. Life has also been busy. But it's still a cool place with cool people, and feels like a cozier, slower corner of the web to hang out and read.

"This is what it's like," said the CO, as we stood drenched in sweat from head to toe.

"This is what it's like," said the EOD, defusing a mine that would have taken his knee.

"This is what it's like," said the veteran, as our unit rotated out for some rest again.

"This is what it's like," says the evening news, reminding me of things that I made myself do.

"This is what it's like," says my former spouse, with one last spiteful glance towards my house.

"This is what it's like," says the therapist, and puts me in pain that I didn't know could exist.

"This is what it's like," say people like myself, who can't know their pain and don't think to help.

It's not even a purely US asset, it's the result of cooperation between America, Russia, the EU, Japan, and China. It's one of the most powerful tributes ever made to the power of a unified scientific pursuit. And this administration wants to hand over our hundred billion dollar investment to an entity beholden to a room of shareholders.

I suppose privatization of the National Parks is next. Actually, if I recall correctly, someone posted an article on here about that a few months ago.
